Colin Robert Baggs

Colin lives in Gloucestershire with his wife and has two grown up children – a daughter who is a teacher in New Zealand and a son who is a Chartered Accountant in London.

Colin’s contribution to Governance within education spanned 10 years, when he was a parent governor for the various schools that his children attended between 1995 and 2007.

A financial services professional, Colin has worked in the Life, Pensions, and Investment sectors for most of his career. Whilst his background is biased toward financial services/finance, Colin has a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He founded and successfully ran 3 small businesses during a 9-year hiatus from financial services. He returned to financial services in May 2019 taking on the role of Investment Team Manager within a mid-tier Pension Provider specialising in self-invested pensions.

A keen ‘DIY’ enthusiast, Colin has also built several houses and renovated others.

"It is my belief that in addition to providing excellent education, schools are an essential part of the communities in which they are located. Strong governance plays a vital role in achieving excellence. As a Foundation Director, I want to utilise the varied skills and experience gained from working in the finance sector and as a business owner to help this Trust to expand sustainably and successfully."

"My hope is that children within the community will have access to the outstanding education being delivered in our current and future trust schools and I am privileged to be a part of this journey."
