Kim Bowgin
Kim Bowgin is the Cardinal Newman Catholic Educational Trust's Chief Financial Officer, responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, expert advice and guidance on all financial matters across the Trust and its schools. Kim has extensive input into the strategic decisions regarding financial management and strategic planning for the Trust’s future expansion. At an operational level, Kim provides high-quality financial advice to the Board of Directors and school leaders, which supports delivering the Trust's strategic ambitions.
Kim has over 15 years of extensive experience in accounting and auditing. Prior to her appointment as CFO (September 2022), Kim began her career at Bishop Fleming LLP. Kim was responsible for overseeing accounting and auditing services across a range of different organisations, including corporate entities, charities and Academy Trusts. During this time, she qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and became an Audit Manager, specialising in the Academy sector. Kim has extensive experience in academisation and the conversion process, having supported many clients converting to academy status.
Following her time with Bishop Fleming LLP, Kim further developed her accountancy and auditing, spending several years managing and coordinating the finances of a private country house and Estate in the UK. Kim had responsibility for financial planning, budget administration, policy development, process improvement and risk management.
Kim is an extremely driven and dedicated individual, who is passionate about providing the best possible education and life chances for all of our children. Kim is passionate about finance being seen as an enabler within the education sector whilst also ensuring that there is a focus on excellence within the Central Leadership Team and across all Trust schools.
Kim lives in Bristol with her partner Toby and their two young children, Isabelle and Jacob.
