Meet The Operations & Estates Manager
Gloria Speed
Gloria Speed holds the role of Operations and Estates Manager at the Cardinal Newman Catholic Educational Trust. Gloria is responsible for several critical Trust functions. This includes, overseeing and coordinating the Trust’s health and safety policies, processes and compliance; standardising statutory testing, site maintenance procedures, building projects and CIF bids and providing operational support across all Trust schools.

With over 30 years of experience in School Business Management and Gaming & Leisure Management, Gloria's expertise is extensive. Her career commenced at Gala Bingo, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the organisation. This involved executing national and local marketing campaigns, recruiting and retaining members, ensuring competitive product offerings, and managing staff recruitment while maintaining budgetary discipline across the board. During this period, she also achieved her Certificate in Gaming & Leisure Management at Nottingham Trent University.

Gloria has exceptional organisational skills, is highly motivated and sets high expectations of herself and others. Her reputation is built on her reliability and conscientious approach to every task. Above all, Gloria is deeply passionate about ensuring the best possible education and life opportunities for all of our children and wants the very best for our Trust schools.

Outside her professional life, Gloria is actively involved in charity work and dedicates her time and resources to various causes aimed at improving the lives of others.

Gloria resides in Bristol with her husband, Ian, and is a proud parent of two grown-up children, Kelsey and Charlie. Gloria is also currently kept busy by her two kittens – Luna and Marbles.
